Government disallows Wincanton twinning with Ankh-Morpork

Postby wizzard » February 15th, 2006, 2:57 pm

The BBC news story:

I think we should start a petition!

WTF? Somebody there has lost their minds.
Besides, Ankh-morpork IS a real place - it has an adress and everything, and even a location - it's in the universe outside our own.
Also, any city described so accurately has to be real.

Ahh the power of belief, if enough people believe in something it always exists. The twin city thing is alod of rubbish anyway, god knows what i'm twinned with, but i bet i'll never visit the place, so why not have fictitious twin cities.

Not wanting to pour cold water on this idea – are we not just a little late?

The Twinning was on 7/12/2002 and this news story is dated 19/6/2003.

Whitehall’s had nearly three years to do a U turn – shouldn't see if there have been any further developments before taking action.
