u can always delete threads older than a certain date (not the stickies or announcements, though).

Yeah, the current system works well enough as it is, no point in adding more work than is required!

Actually theres something called a forum pruning system, all you have to do is set it and click a button the forums will automatically get rid of all the old threads. No work involved, it takes about 10 mins set up. Thing is me thinks that there are some bloody good old threads on this board and it would be ashame to loose them.

the other option i sto lock the dead threads so people won't add to them.

Frankly I prefer it that old threads get woken up every once in a while, just for the heck of it.

so how much time has to pass for you to consider a thread old enough to lock or delete and i was also wondering how do you get promoted?
is it how many posts you make or is it just who wizzard decides to promote
