My new daughter

Postby kyuudousha » August 30th, 2005, 10:22 am

Jasmine

Sparkling eyes and chubby cheeks
A little button nose
A little chin,
with a dimple in,
Beneath a smile of gold.

Little legs, flailing wild
with tiny, perfect toes.
And podgy knees
for all to see,
wherever you do go.

I watch you sleep in your cot,
you stir and stretch and squeak.
I know it won't
be too long now
before we hear you speak!

Your smile for me when I get in
from work to pay for you,
I wouldn't swap
for a yacht
or a lottery win.

What did we do, your mum and I,
in lives that went before?
To culminate
in such a state
of love and utter awe.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. She's ACE!

Sorry, she's not actually that new, she's ten months old now...

Started sleeping through though so that's pretty cool.

Can't help sneaking in to the nursery at night and just watching her sleeping. Is it just me or are all new (or relatively new) parents like that?

:D

There's nothing as heartwarming as a new dad who's really obsessed with his little one. :D

When can we see pictures?

I suppose so. I still sneak into my son's room every night before I go to sleep just to watch him because he's so adorable in his sleep. And he is three years old allready =)

According to the holiwood way (songs, movies, tv shows) most dads go to watch their kids sleep at night. Having been raised in a kibbutz with commune sleeping my father only did that when it was his turn to watch over all the kids, and it was the job description, so it doesn't count. Not being male or having kids of my own I can't testify of first hand.
I'll take the popular opinion on this then - it's what most parents do.

BTW - your daughter has a nice name  .

I liked it because of the song by "The Casuals" from 1966 (I think). There are a few lines in it that go:

WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO,WITH A GIRL LIKE JESAMINE,
THOUGH MY EYES ARE OPEN WIDE,SHE'S MADE
MY LIFE A DREAM

WHEN JESAMINE GOES,A PART OF ME KNOWS
I'M NOT REALLY LIVING
A BUTTERFLY CHILD,SO FREE AND SO WILD
AND SO FULL OF LIVING

WHEN JESAMINE STAYS,THOUGH TIME GOES FAST
THIS IS MY WORLD AT LAST
BEAUTIFUL DAY'S,LOST IN HER EYES
AND SO ON....

Shame I spelt the name wrong though on the birth certificate...

So that's why she can't spell it all makes sence now.

Ok so we now know why kyuudousha's daughter can't spell... now lets get to the bottom of why glorfindel can't.
